Re: Lawrence Thompson pipe bags

Hello to all, OP here, After receiving his mailing address from a kind person here, I wrote to Lawrence ten days ago . When I say "wrote" I mean that I actually printed my request on a sheet of paper, folded it in thirds, and then inserted it in another sheet that had been pre-folded into ...

Re: a Patrick Sky book?

My Dear Mr. Gumby,

Perhaps, in haste, you had not noticed that some of those quoted prices include shipping.

All the best,

Hello,

I would like to buy a copy of Pat Sky's "A Manual for the Irish Uilleann Pipes."

Contacting Patrick Sky

Hello,

I want to order a book from Patrick Sky, but despite many efforts over the last few weeks I can't seem to reach him via email, and that's the only method of contact I have.

Might you assist? Is there another way to reach him that you might provide?

Sincere thanks,

A.C.

Re: Lawrence Thompson pipe bags

Many thanks for your help.

Also, am I correct to assume that the Thomson UP bag is stitched, rather than riveted?

All the best,

Lawrence Thompson pipe bags

Hello,

I need contact information for the purchase of a Lawrence Thompson Uilleann Pipes bag.

Also, I have seen, and searched, for the name both as Thompson, and Thomson. Which is correct?

Might you assist?

Sincere thanks,

A.C.

Re: G# on D Chanter?

Many thanks for the suggestion, but with my present practice set, the fingering does not give me anything other than a subtle change in timbre.

I'll experiment further when I take delivery of my full set in October.

All the best,

G# on D Chanter?

Howdy,

Is it possible for play an upper octave G# on a D chanter?

If so, how is it fingered?

Many thanks,

A.C.

Upper Octave Fine (but only Legato)

Howdy, I'm a UP Newbie... At this stage of the game, I can play in the upper octave easily, and with reasonable facility, but only if I play legato, that is, with open fingering. If I try to move to the upper octave playing staccato, that is, with closed fingering, well, things don't go quite so wel...

Re: Need to "re-glue" Burke whistle...

Welcome to the neighborhood. I've had that happen to a couple of my older Burkes. Contact Mike Burke and send it back to him for repair. That's the best thing you can do. Mike will get it back into playing shape - maybe better than before. The brass high C he repaired for me is better than it ever ...

Need to "re-glue" Burke whistle...

Howdy, I have a Burke Brass narrow bore D whistle that has just come apart at the lower joint (no, not the upper joint that is used for tuning.) The joint was "glued" with some sort of material that easily chipped off the brass with my finger nail. It was of dark blue, or purple color, but...
