The hardness is probably good enough for making flute from it. Its got quiet big pores so I think the pores has to be filled up. There are many great tone woods beside blackwood but you never would think that performs as good as the grenadil.

Sounds very good. How is locust for moisture absorption? Im playing on it since a while and it seems to me very stable. I used it before as a keyless till I get some time to put on the keys. I treated it with linseed oil and its fine. Ones I had to rereame the bore but after that didn't change anyt...

By the way, does he still play the flute? On his website , he introduces himself as a piper, there's hardly any mention of the flute :-? He told me ones that he stopped playing the flute because he wants to concentrate just for the pipes. But I think he still useing one of my F and G bamboo flutes.

I'm making conical bored bamboo flutes in all keyes. The sound of my flutes are very close to the irish wooden flutes. Strong sound and easy playing with comfortable fingerhole placement.

Hi Rainer Its got a little bit bigger tone holes but its still suitable to cover them. Its got conical bore but with small fingerholes the octav of the D , E and F# notes is to low.
