Re: Generation "Boho" Whistles
HI Sirchronique, thanks for the reply! I was wondering if maybe the pattern applied is perhaps messing around with how the air column inside (or around the holes) behaves. Yes, maybe a little bit... although you'd have to swap-check this, of course. After playing the whistle for awhile, I'd have to ...

Re: Generation "Boho" Whistles
(... several weeks later...) Hey there, has anyone who got one tried to remove the head? (@Sirchronique, you mentioned you wanted yours for tweaking anyway?) Wouldn't the hot water-method damage the paisley?

Re: Killarney All Brass
Would wrapping clear tape around bell end of whistle help/hurt the sound? Well, you only need a whistle and some tape to find out. ;) That has absolutely zero bearing on the sound. [...] The material doesn't vibrate to produce sound in whistles. A great disenchantment for those in search of a "...

Re: Flute to get started with
The Folk Flute, or a Delrin flute like Forbes, Copley, Sweet, or Somers (good instruments all) will be good instruments to learn on, and they'll be something you can play for decades. What would you suggest among the ones you listed? You don't say where you're living (other than in a house which ca...

Well here's the flutini analysis:
It's hard to tell from the clip, but to me it looks as if he has the tuning slide all pushed in... so maybe he just didn't make any attempt to get it anywhere close to A=440Hz?

How about one of those new Generation Boho whistles? Of course Generations are always a bit hit and miss, but if it turns out to be not so good it's still a nice gimmick. Also it's cheap.

Yes, what's the big deal? I'd think you'll save more time saying this rather than having to explain what a "fluthier" is supposed to be (if that's your concern).Peter Duggan wrote:I'd just say 'flute maker'

Re: Generation "Boho" Whistles
It was my impression they were similar. Only saw them in a box in the shop though. Thanks! Yes, it looks similar on the photos too... seems alright to me then. I just ordered one anyway... in their own cheesy way they're actually looking pretty cool. :) Also I like the name. Just curious why on Ama...

Re: Generation "Boho" Whistles
The tube seems a bit tacky, but then again, so do bright red and blue heads. If they intended to offer more distinguished looking whistles, they certainly went over the top quite a bit! Looks like a great whistle to take to a Goa rave, though. I'm intrigued... thanks for sharing, Sirchronique...
