Re: Beginner question Pratten vs Rudall
I have played a lot of wooden flute and I never found a pratten flute hard to play, however I found some rudall models with a very critical embouchure. I think the this story about rudall for beginners has not a real base. And between Rudall and Pratten, I will take a big holes rudall with no hesita...

Re: FS: M&E D Keyless
If your selling a 'right' top hand layout, it will not be as useful as the standard layout. Too shipping on it would be very high. Just paid US $24 to ship 1 Lb to the Uk. Nice pictures :D It´s a righ handed flute, the offset is designed for that. Postage from spain to any part of the world is not ...

Re: Tips for a concert
Hi guys, thanks again, two days to go and I have taken some of your tips like the flute flag, I improvised a flag with to plastic sticks and works fine. My flute is Watson so a R&R model and I can clean the head opening the middle section and not the barrel, it helps to keep the tunning. I hope ...

Re: Tips for a concert
Eat a banana earlier to help with the nervousness. Bring spare equipment/instruments. Do you double at all on whistle? A Banana could be a great help to me :D . Just bought some of them this afternoon. I like the bananas and potasium is fine for tired muscles. It is a 90 minutes concert and I have ...

Tips for a concert
Hi guys. Me and me friends have gone crazy and we will play in a concert with dancers in less than two weeks, in the Granada University. I know very well the repertory and I´m confident with that but I have some worries. It is a 90 minutes concert and I have two play 11 sets with 3 flute solos. My w...

Re: Question about olwell waiting list
I sent an email to them 3 years ago asking for their waiting list and I never recieved any answer. A friend who knows Aaron offered to facilitate the contact but finally I decided on another maker.

Re: Early learners
I'm relatively new to the flute. I bought a Copely keyless blackwood a few years ago, but have been practicing seriously for a few months now. Also picked up high and low D whistles. I've tried lessons from OAIM, a couple private teachers, YouTube, etc., but by far, for me, the best resource I've f...

Re: Early learners
Here are a few ideas on Irish flute playing with the early learner in mind. I hope it helps! Sláinte, Great advices Jonathan, I like this one "Play with heart, stop thinking", this is exactly my vision of trad music. I can see you are from Austin, I have a friend from there, Rob Lifford, ...

Re: CITES Question
You shouldn't have any trouble bringing the instrument across borders as a personal possession. Yes, this is what happens in my country, you should only have problems if the customs agents think that you are selling instruments made with forbidden woods. You're only going to carry one, so unless yo...
