Re: WTB - Casey Burns "Folk" Flute Small-Hand Ergonomic
Hello rglight I don't have a Casey Burns small hand flute but I do make flutes that are easy to play for people with a smaller reach, and everyone else. In fact, I'm finishing one right now. No payment in advance. Try it first. If you like it and want to keep it, that's great for the two of us :) He...

Re: Mopane vs. African Blackwood
Hello Jim ... and others who are here discussing Mopane vs Blackwood. CITES has decided that brown is the new black and flute makers will eventually migrate to Mopane or other good tone wood as stocks of pre-CITES African Blackwood deplete and disappear. Yesterday, I posted two raw un-edited and sim...

Re: Maker?
Thanks Terry! And for your inspiration and guidance from afar. We were in touch around 2013 with me asking questions about things like back reaming. You kindly answered me in full and more. Your website is enormous and I refer to it regularly. I may well have got the 'privilege' insight from it :-) ...

Re: Maker?
Hi Eric
Thanks! Yes, the scale changer plugs are fun and useful. They came about after often wanting to move to a minor tune and having to pick up a cold classical flute and warm that up. Where I am (Sweden) people often want an F natural for their music. Now they get one.

Re: Maker?
Hello Keer
That is an early model of a Tim Adams Irish Flute, probably around 2014. I am the maker.
My flute model has evolved since then, you can find more info here: http://www.adams.se/flute
Funny to see the flute turning up on C&F

Re: Holding flute comfortably
Hi If you have small hands you might find this clip useful. I made it for Mary who came from the classical tradition and was having trouble getting her fingers to comfortably cover the holes on her new flute. Hope it helps you too. https://youtu.be/yfbNKJSaVhI Tim Adams Flute Maker - www.adams.se/fl...

Re: Flute Materials
Hello David I make and send flutes to everywhere including Canada and I usually advise people to care for them like you would a pet. Don't leave it in a freezing car, on a sweltering window sill or anywhere you wouldn't want to be yourself for a longer time. African Blackwood flutes don't need a lot...

Re: Any opinion on this maker?
Hi all I have now changed the 'ten years' to 'many years' as it was taken up quite (too) literally. As david_h guessed, I wanted to put a perspective on the price and a price per year. Of course, I hope they last a lifetime and more but I can never make that claim. That's probably why other makers d...

Re: Any opinion on this maker?
Hi all Heard there were rumblings on the forum about my flutes, pricing and more. Thought I should come by and explain myself. Indeed my flutes are new on the market and so am I. And nothing to compare with the McGees, Healys, Sweets, Hamiltons, Gabriels, Doyles and others of this world. Mine do not...
