Re: Lives of the Pipers-pipemaker listings, N. America pre-1

Hey Nick, why did it take you so long to add the Taylor Bros of Phili? Would have thought that would have headed your initial list. Hope that you are keeping well.

Was a bit more with wooden top and stop valve. Does this one have it? He charged $575 extra.

I have a Geoff Wooff C Chanter that I don't play often (addicted to my Wooff B!) and am open to parting with.

Great work Nick. Did Tom Busby not make the cut time wise?

Thanks.

Re: The limerick piper painting

Martin Driscol passed some years ago. He painted many of his paintings on a commission basis, based on photos that people provided him to paint. He had a reputation of painting traditional irish scenes and did that very well. So, most certainly that became his specialty because of such demand.

Re: New York customs

It is a NY state sales tax. They say that I imported personal property into NYS from abroad. Upon entry, it is subject to New York state and local sales and compensating use tax totalling $3,445.00, including penalties and interest.

Re: Childress Pipes

My first chanter was a Childress chanter. It was reeded by Bruce and I bought it second hand. It was very sweet and I only sold it because I received my full set eventually, but I wished I kept it. Kind of like keeping your first car.
