Re: Baritone Regulator tuning issue
Thanks again Hugh for your time and comments. I hear people often giving out about how difficult it is to keep regulators in tune. So I guess it would be no harm to try those phospher bronze reeds for the craic. I do have a spare cane reed that the pipe maker sent with the regulators that I could al...

Re: Baritone Regulator tuning issue
Thank you Hugh for your help. The rush I'm using is thin copper wire. About the thickness of a D perhaps A guitar string. I guess I'm just a little frustrated due to very quickly getting the tenor reg tuned. Regarding pressure, I have been told that my pipes are easy enough to play, very efficient a...

Baritone Regulator tuning issue
Hi everyone, I have recently upgraded my concert pitch pipes to a 3/4 set. I'm enjoying the new sound of the added regulators but am having a few tuning issues with the baritone regulator. I started by getting the reeds playing at a pressure to match my drones and chanter. I then began fine tuning b...

Help for an Austrian friend
Hi all, I've an Austrian friend here in Wexford who has started piping lessons and is doing really well. However he is to move back to Austria sometime around July. Are there any pipers out there, near where he is that could continue to give lessons or support? His nearest town would be Bregenz in A...

Re: Mainstock pulling forward
Hi PJ
Gave your suggestion about the strap a go and played at a session last night. Perfect, just like the old days! Looped it around bass drone bend and onto a key ring that I attached to the waist strap. Thanks for advice. Hamish

Re: Mainstock pulling forward
Hi Pipewort, Yes the bag is exactly the same as the old one. An L&M standard uilleann pipe bag. Might try retying as you suggested because continually pulling the stock back is very frustrating and making playing awkward. Just thought that if the hole for the stock was slightly further back it w...

Mainstock pulling forward
I have recently enough put a new bag on my pipes and find that the drones/regulators are trying to constantly pull forward away down my leg and against the chanter. I copied the position of the blowpipe and mainstock locations from the previous bag and wonder if the mainstock is too close to the sea...

Re: pipes maker?
I also recently have started playing a Patrick Hyland chanter. It's easily the best tuned and most responsive chanter I've used.
