Re: Sopilka

Similar sopilka made by Tereschenko is now on e-bay. Just search "sopilka". I bought another one for my husband. Glad I don't need to ask anyone to bring them from Ukraine anymore. These are one of the best prima sopilkas I know of.

Burke low F question

I own Burke brass whistle in A, and like the sound of it very much. I wanted to get his low F, but learned that he only makes them in aluminum. Does anyone have such whistle, and how does it compare with his brass ones? I generally don't care much for aluminum as a material... Any suggestions...

Re: overtone flutes and fujara

I had great experience with flutes made by Marek Gonda http://english.fujarka.cz/index.php
I own four of his instruments: a koncovka (an overtone flute), and three 6-finger hole flutes in various keys. All instruments are of exceptional quality, and aesthetically pleasing.

Dilli kaval

I've came across this flute on e-bay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turkish-Good-Qu ... 0875763346
There is even a video of the guy playing it. Does anyone know anything about this type of flute? Fingering chart?
It looks different than regular kaval.

Re: Flute Photos!!! Come post your flute pictures :)

My new bamboo flute. I got it from e-bay, maybe someone will recognize the maker? It sounds pleasant, and I like it for practicing and learning how to play a transverse flute. My current experience is only with fipple flutes (whistles and sopilkas). https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-g4To6zFnWvQ/Uo_...

Re: Sopilka

Just received a sopilka and a dzholomyga (double flute) from a friend. They were made by Ukrainian craftsman Tereschenko. Here is a link to a musical piece played on dzholomyga: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAgrgzZlXUw&feature=youtu.be https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-w4TqnnobAk4/UikXS8vz_PI...

New flute from Marek Gonda

Just received a new flute (low E) from Marek Gonda http://english.fujarka.cz/ The flute is a work of art, and has a mellow rich tone I find irresistible. I'll try to record a tune soon to give an idea of the flute's voice. https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-4hP8hjE9dmU/URlz9vZhz3I/AAAAAAAAD0U/D9a6Wv...
