Re: Susato High D for sale...kinda

Shame you're not selling it, "local pick up only" as I've always wanted to see Alaska. Had a great uncle that went up after the Spanish-American War for the gold rush. Didn't bring back any gold but did bring back lots of stories.

Re: Shipping a Chieftain to the UK to be recorked

Five-ply wool yarn works for me. I got this tip from Ralph Sweet to fix high D blackwood whistle. Wrap the yarn evenly with the end tucked under the last few wraps and use cork grease or lip balm (Chapstick). Easily replaceable and is as effective as cork.

FS: John Sindt A Whistle SOLD

I exchanged a whistle and a fistful of dollars to another forum member for this one about a month ago. It was made in 2009 and has a lovely patina. I'll want $307 Paypal friend or $317 Paypal w/fees.
I'll only ship of sell to a buyer in the continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico.

I use #14 O-rings from Lowes placed between the second and third and fifth and sixth holes on my MK. Keeps my thumb from slipping.

Re: Thread and wax

Ralph Sweet recommended five ply wool yarn for the wrap and any lip balm for the wax. I got my yarn at Wal-Mart and a tube of Chapstick. Fixed the loose joint on my blackwood Sweetheart whistle. Burt's Bees also makes a beeswax lip balm that's readily available.

Re: Slightish Whitish Blackwood

Happens on all of my wood whistles and Native American flutes. I think my lips are absorbing oil from the wood. I rub a little Chap Stick on the wood occasionally and that seems to help. Doesn't hurt the wood and harmless to me.
