Re: Finbar Furey reedmaking videos

Excellent set of videos on Patrick O'Hare's site too for Facebook users. He basically details and demonstrates the steps in his book, from staple to tuning in the chanter.

Re: Unfinished Howard chanters in b off Ebay UK

Sorry, images show where I'm at. No other placement of holes other than those I tabulated. If I do get round to this project I'll post the results or pm you. Looks like only you and me left on this thread anyway, despite the 9k views!
Cheers,Gerry

Re: Unfinished Howard chanters in b off Ebay UK

HI Beirnach. Short answer is I wimped out. Tunborough and I exchanged emails on modelling the hole placements but couldn't do it in the end. I practised on dowel in the drill press but was unhappy with the centreing of the holes. Then I tried building a jig for the press and then usi...

Cue Glasgow King's Theatre pantomime audience: "Oh yes,it does! I'm a mild-mannered chap by nature, but this one was a staple of Glasgow pub arguments for decades. So I'll pick up the gauntlet. Here's Murdock's Pub on the subject, phonetic alphabet and all to assist our EEC cousins: https://www...

If you go here Pat:

Re: Homemade flute cases

I've done a couple. I'm a weekend woodturner and not a particularly good boxmaker. it's a skill in itself, but can be done if you can source the materials and are tooled up.
