FS: Morrison Reelpipes $2600

I really, really don't want to let them go but... I'm selling my Fred Morrison Reelpipes to finance another instrument purchase. I got them in 2006 and took them to a workshop with Fred in Kansas city a few months later where he set them up for me. He gave me his personnal chanter at the time which ...

eBay: Morrison Reelpipes $2600 11/3

I'm selling my Fred Morrison Reelpipes to finance another instrument purchase. I got them in 2006 and took them to a workshop with Fred in Kansas city a few months later where he set them up for me. He gave me his personnal chanter at the time which he had just used in a concert. They play beautiful...

Re: Why are there so few female pipers ?

Reed pipes were invented by a woman (Athena) and then we gave them to the men along with a strong male mystic to keep them out of the way while we rule the world. You didn't know this? It's us and the little white mice.

Re: Lyrics?

I spent the last Irish Fair in wellies because of the rain and mud. I had welly marks for a week. And I was told a story about a couple of gents coming to a gig underdressed and one said to the other "Pull up your socks and cover your wellie marks." Seems to be a metafore for dressing less...

Re: Please help with words and name of the song

It sounds updated to me...a modernized song put to an old tune which is happening often over there. With another listen..and the bravest child of rugby...maybe a name...and their men?? Well at least I'm sure the rising of the moon will be the PIPER"S waring call.

Re: Need replacement song, any ideas?

Another Burns tune like A Fond Kiss would make a nice set. A slide from the A to G is nice.

Re: Lyrics to song "as Gaeilge" Sadhbh Ni Bhruinnealla

I watched hooker raceing on tg4 the other day. Lovely little boats. They look like majestic birds under full sail. They said some of them are 100 yrs old and used to take peat to the Aran Islands. I have been learning this song for a while and it felt Scottish to me. I thought it might be a Scottish...

Tunes for tots

I am going to be teaching an Irish Culture class for pre-school aged children. I will be teaching rhymes and games during circle time so it is THE chance to begin ear training very early. What tunes should I teach to these little ones to prepare them for playing an instrument later.

Re: Flately's Lord of the Dance

What's sad is not so much the avoidance of mistakes but the reduction of theatrical magical moments that can occure when the unexpected happens. When the sets go up and the mackup and costumes go on and those lights come up, magic happens and much of that is lost when it is canned in any way. You ma...
