FS: Hedwitschak Core Line Bodhran Like New

I have a Hedwitschak Core Line Bodhran in like-new condition. It is tunable, made of blonde wood with a black ribbon, ex-large size: 16" diameter, 6" depth. The case is a green one by Colorado Case Company. I'm including two Heddy tippers. Long-time Chiff and Fipple member Tommyk has playe...

Re: Beginner Ukelele?

Coincidentally, I just bought two cheap ukeleles to hang in my high school classroom over two bean bag chairs--just wanted to encourage music where kids may not have access to it. I don't actually play myself (or rather, I haven't played one since 5th grade...). But you could, y'know. The standard ...

Re: Beginner Ukelele?

I found this thread fascinating--I wouldn't have thought all the trad (Irish,Scottish, etc.) players would also be so knowledgeable about ukeleles! So is the ukelele something people actually bring to sessions? or does the interest here simply indicate that trad players like folk music in general? C...

Re: Flutes made of delrin

Just wanted to note that I bought a 3- pc delrin made by Gary Somers and it is AMAZING. I'm so happy with it. It is actually easier to play than my rosewood. It was in the postbox over-night because we forgot to get the mail. My husband brought it in to me in the morning and it was cold. Most instru...

Re: grammar

So after a long day at work...teaching AP English, I search out the Chiff and Fipple forum for a little light reading about music and BAM....I see a "grammar" thread. Naturally curious, I read the whole dang thing (even the miscellaneous unwindings that lead to spider barks...) and I think...

Re: Flutes made of delrin

Thank you all for your comments! I've been offered a couple of really great deals on really great flutes through pms and will likely have one shortly--just in time for a trip out to the desert in early May! :D

Flutes made of delrin

I'm sort of looking to buy a "camping" flute over the next couple months (camping in a 37' RV with climate control, not in a tent) because my rosewood deKeyser doesn't seem to like going to the sand dunes or lake--even in the RV. The PVC flutes also seemed like an option, but I don't want ...

Re: FS: Oz and Busman High D Whistles and an MK Low D

The Oz has been sold.

The Busman and the MK are still available.

Also wanted to mention that the blue-green dymondwood (to my knowledge) isn't being made any more, so if you're into collecting whistles, this one is a beauty!!

Re: Looking for Slow Session Players in East/North San Diego

Hi Julie, Really nothing going on as far as sessions in your neck of the woods. I live in the Granite Hills area east of El Cajon. Even though it's a bit of a long haul, you should come check out the session at The Ould Sod on Tuesday nights, if for no other reason that it goes from 7 PM often time...

Looking for Slow Session Players in East/North San Diego

Hi All,
Seems like all the sessions for the San Diego, Ca area are pretty far from where I live and I'm looking for an open slow session in the Lakeside/Ramona area--does anyone know of anything? Is there anyone who'd be interested in starting something like this?
