Re: Scottish Smallpipe Album Recommendations?
Bit late to the game here, but have you heard of Dan Houghton? https://danhoughton.bandcamp.com/ I didn't know Dan had done a solo album. I've seen Cantrip live a few times, though I think the last time was 2008. (edit: sorry, didn't read the OP thoroughly enough. Brìghde Chaimbeul already mentione...

Unfortunately, there's already been a major problem identified with quiet vehicles, electric or not. Pedestrians can't hear them as well, and car-pedestrian accidents are more likely.PB+J wrote:I have some hopes for electric cars reducing noise levels. No words are beaten up in the video. Music is used in a situation where a short speech would be expected.PB+J wrote:It’s unfair to beat up on words for not being things

"associated with"
In the OAIM lessons, certain tunes are mentioned as being "associated with" a certain player, or with a certain part of Ireland. For example, the tune "Tripping to the Well" is described as "associated with" John McKenna. The tune "Shoe the Donkey" is describe...

Re: Missing OAIM lesson? Doon Reel?
I'd find out which Doon Reel the Oaim folks forgot to record, learn it if I liked it, and when asked "What's the name of that one?"-- there's the opportunity to tell a story of the resource that is C&F, the responsiveness of Oaim, that there is a whole rake of Doon reels and of Padrai...

Missing OAIM lesson? Doon Reel?
In the OAIM Whistle Basics course, Kirsten Allstaff refers to the last lesson as the 18th, although it's the 17th. She mentions "18 lessons" at other times. In the next-to-last lesson, she says in the introduction that the Connacht Heifers goes well in a set with the Doon Reel and that she...
