I am in the process of making a Reamer based on the information you all have provided.... But to save time I would just as soon buy a Custom Made Reamer ... Has anyone ever bought a Custom made Reamer ? Any recommendations as to a good place to buy one.

Re: Does anyone know of a good way to make a conical bore 15"
a professional instrument would require a tapered bore for acoustic superiority. Fedoggie and Thomas... Your information / link was very right on... It sounds like a good direction to go. Yes, I am working in two different directions, one with a straight bore and a professional taper bore instrumen...

I am in the process of making a (exotic hardwood) Conical Bore QUENA FLUTE. Do you know of a way to drill a Conical Hole 15” long . That has a tapered hole that is 3/4” ID at the top... and 1/2” ID at the other end. I would appreciate any insights or information you may have related to this process....

Re: Got my own whistlesmith!
If a picture is worth a thousand words then make sure to check out Tyrone Head's website. These sites are at opposite ends of the spectrum for illustrating what tooling it takes to make a whistle. Don't forget to look through YouTube for flutemaking and whistlemaking videos. Just finished eight new...

Re: What is the "Best" side blown, Transverse Irish Flute ?
Basically, tyiam, what you want to do is familiarise yourself with the top makers' products. Are you thinking of playing simple-sytem flute, or are you thinking of making them? Both... I think the best is a good teacher and as was pointed out by Feadoggie... The simplest answer is "the flute t...

Re: New Videos on how my Whistle/Flutes are made
Hi Maki, Well I have to say that “AvienMael” has it right. The following flute makers set a very high bar and you will have a hard time finding a better whistle. I know because I own some of them and they are outstanding. “AvienMael For example, I could place an order for an O'Riordan for @$1,000, o...

Re: New Videos on how my Whistle/Flutes are made
Hi Maki, Thanks for the accolades... I have been approached to do a whistle tour/ review and have decided that what is important is whether “you“ are happy with all aspects of the whistle. I have had allot of positive feedback and only three people who were disappointed and they were given a full re...
