FS...Walsh small pipes in D
This is a set that I had made several years ago. African Blackwood/imitation ivory, set up to be either bellows or mouth blown. I should point out that the bellows option is not the common Walsh optional bellows "adapter", but a proper bellows stock mounted in the bag itself. There is a st...

I almost forgot...I had Lynn at The House of Bagpipes tie in a new L&M hide bag a while back. No more floppy Goretex.

Re: low d recommendation with criteria
Another vote for Reyburn. I love mine, I wound up with both a brass and an aluminum, couldn't decide which sound I liked best. :poke: They are very different in timbre, but both play in tune and are lovely in their own way. I'd describe the air requirements as easy to medium, although the aluminum o...

Re: Cudos to Ronaldo...
Agreed. Very good service and excellent whistles. His aluminum low D is nothing short of fantastic. Got to agree...I have both a brass and an aluminum low D from Ronaldo. I'd be hard pressed to say which Is my favorite. Some tunes seem to sound better on one and some on the other. I could never be ...

Cudos to Ronaldo...
Just thought I'd share my recent acquisition from Ronaldo (Reyburn of course). Ordered an A/Bb set in brass, took just a couple of weeks to arrive and they play beautifully. Easy blowing, easy/comfortable reach, good response to articulation and ornaments and great intonation. Great instrument(s) an...

Paul...sounds good, I'll get some off to you.
BTW, my Great-great grandpa immigrated to Frederick in 1830 from Germany, and my Great grandpa fought with the 7th Maryland Infantry (USA) in the civil war. So I have deep ties to Frederick.

Re: transposing soprano to alto fingerings
Thanks again for all of your replies. sorry about the wording of my question. Just to be clear: I bought a book of Baroque pieces with written guitar part and a soprano recorder part. Since I play alto, I was wondering what would happen if I played the soprano part as written on my alto recorder. (...

Re: thumbnail chip in thumb hole on alto recorder
I believe that Kelischek workshop (Susato) will add a bushing to the thumb hole. As mentioned above this is a common repair.
Many recorders come this way at the out set.

Hello back at you...and welcome to the community. Sounds like you just need to get out there and join in with the local session(s). Confidence only comes with time in the saddle! Although a pint of Guinness or two couldn't hurt! Neat that you got to play with Ms. Madden and meet Gene, both are great...
