Re: Blowpipe too thin.
Thank you, I'm going to try the tape and hemp. I don't think I have anything that would work as an adaptor.

Blowpipe too thin.
I have a blowpipe that doesn't fit the hose coming from the bellows. I don't know how to build it up. Hemp doesn't work because it forms a wedge that slips. Black tape is a bit better but is sticky and slips/unravels a bit. I realise I could try a blowpipe that's wider but I like this particular one...

Re: Tune name please
I think the Keenan recording is called port an piobaire, which he made with arty mcglynn. Oh, and it's on the 'Doublin'' album too.

Re: Tune name please
I think it is the man/woman/mistress/lady/lord of the house. But I'm keeping my options open.

Re: ebay flute
The reason I asked the question here was because I thought (correctly) that there would be people on this forum who've seen everything that's out there and would know straight away.

Re: Ebay Items
With regard to my question, I understand that blind auction is the wrong term. I meant when you bid on a lot but don't know what you're bidding on, like a suitcase that was lost on a flight and was never claimed.

Re: Ebay Items
In reference to the treasure trove of pipes being sold on eBay, how would someone come into possession of such a haul, not even knowing what they'd acquired? One of those blind auctions where they sell things lost in the post, or lost property?

Peter F's account is still active. Hopefully he'll hang around and continue to contribute, and benefit, from the forum.

C chanter: question
I have a c chanter made by a maker called Carroll from the north of England. It has 2 keys. I'd be interested to find out what such an instrument night sell for. The chanter was made by a maker who was taught by Davy Stephenson and therefore is of a similar ilk to Peter Hunter's pipes. I don't have ...

Re: "Disirt Tola" - Clare group 1983
I can see Ronan Browne, and perhaps Peter Browne. A couple of Shannons and, I think, Martin Hayes. I take it one of the fiddlers is Ronan Browne's sister?
