Re: Raising fingers too high? ( some conflicting advice)

Watch some guitar masters and their fingers moving through the neck. It seems that they don´t play the instrument at all .

Just play a lot, always relaxed, and economy of movement will come.

Re: Grunting

Glottal stops/tonguing are not grunting, and the practice of these techniques are not related to this problem in any way.

Grunting happens to some players when they are beginners or have been without playing for much time. It simply disappears with practice, so dont worry, just play and have fun.

FS: Reelpipes in A by McCallum/Fred Morrison

Virtually unused, played no more than 10 times since I bought them. Selling because I mainly play flute and uilleann pipes, among other instruments (no time for all!). No case but extra reed provided. Your opportunity to aquire a great set with zero waiting (it´s WAY more than what they advertise in...

Re: Flute crutch?

I use 4 modifications right now in my keyed flutes: cheap and easy to install.

Tomorrow I´ll post some images.

Re: Left wrist

Hi! I´ll speak from my experience: 1. Stop playing NOW, until you feel 100% ok again. Pain could last weeks, even months (hopefully not!). 2. Stop using mouse/keyboard NOW. 3. Sleep well, cold-heat-cold (in that order), relax, go walk, drink water and eat healthy food. 4. After the pain phase, stren...

Re: Delrin Pratten

I'm also interested in a delrin keyed flute, or maybe ebonite. Delrin must be unpleasant to work with because few people seem to want to use it. I remember Terry McGee complaining abut big piles of curled plastic shavings. The Paddy Ward website doesn't show any delrin flutes, and neither does Gall...

Re: Delrin Pratten

Yes, yes, I know. I use "pro" as synonym of "instrument not specifically designed for novices and played by experienced musicians", sorry for the possible misunderstanding. I had a keyless Seery in delrin 3 years ago, bought to a well known piper and after a year it was sold here...

Delrin Pratten

Hi,

Do you know of any pro delrin flute with Pratten design out there? Not Seery, Galeon or Somers. Thanks!

Re: RIP Hans-Jörg Podworny

Very sad news indeed! Hans-Jörg and I once were amused about that song from Mark Knopfler: When I leave this world behind me To another I will go And if there are no pipes in heaven I'll be going down below If friends in time be severed Someday we will meet again I'll return to leave you never Be a...
