One of the cures for whistle acquisition disorder is to put your affections on another instrument. Whistles are relatively inexpensive compared to other instruments like flutes, pipes, accordions and concertinas! I can speak from experience.

I few years ago I bought a Goldie narrow bore G from Colin. Unfortunately I haven't played a regular bore G so I couldn't give you a comparison. Since you already own a Goldie low D with medium back pressure, you could buy one for comparison and be the first person to do an in depth review!
