Hummus limerick

There once was a lad from Columbus,
Who made the world's worst batch of hummus.
Said he, all red faced,
"It isn't the taste,
But the fumes that'll soon overcome us."

Whistle sighting on the Late Show

Just watching Friday's show and the sax player was playing a whistle that looked very much like my Dixon, with the dull brass finish and long black head.

'Firefly' jig

I'm watching Firefly on Netflix and in episode 5 there is a little folk dance scene where they play a lovely jig. Does anyone know if that's a traditional jig and what its name is?

Re: What are your favourite slip jigs?

You can liven up the Butterfly by playing it against a repeating pattern of Em, D, C, D, in power chords (no 3rds). Or, perhaps, liven it up even more by playing it against a repeating pattern of no chords at all. I was in a group that played this as a three part round, each part coming in a...

Re: 2014 - ROLL CALL for C&F Whistlers & Learners

I haven't been here much lately. I'm doing more (not bodhran) drumming and less whistling. I hope all of you are well. Hi to all my old friends and to the friends I haven't met yet.
