Re: Tune Identification please.....

Here's sheet music to a large number of slightly different versions. They say they have 25 different names for that tune. I know it as An Gille Ruadh . https://thesession.org/tunes/566 Thanks for the link. It seems like every tune has multiple names, and sometimes a name is used for different tunes...

Re: Tune Identification please.....

Thanks Trill "Red Haired Boy" ? That would make sense - as people on the session reckon that is another name for The Little Beggarman. Do you have doubts though, judging by the question mark? Although, in the clip provided above the "B" part seems to be recorded first. Yeah, my f...

It sounds fun to play but I wanted to find a complete recording to practice to. Thanks in advance for any...

Re: Flattened thumb patch

Nice idea. For whistles with thin walls, would a carefully engineered stick-on 'thickener' work? Something that converted the thumb contact point from a curved to a flat surface? I can see the marketing possibilities already. 'Hold that whistle more firmly' 'gain confidence in playing' 'proven to en...

For Sale: Tony Dixon Acetal D Flute SOLD

I still need to make some space for another purchase so my 'car flute' is up for sale. Virtually indestructible flute in near perfect condition. I never used it much as playing the flute in the car is even more difficult than playing the low whistles (that's right hand drive for you ;-). The best de...
